Bordeaux is a very lovely place. Not as bustling as Lyon but there football team are better.

Hi DotK – thanks for your message to me. I’ll look out for the recommended books. It’s good to hear about your life in France as well as writing about mine!
I know the restaurant you went to. We went there for lunch on our first visit to the Fete des Lumières, back in December 2005. We really enjoyed our meal and I can imagine how lovely it is in the evening looking over Lyon.

Going on a very faulty memory [it was 1998], is the Basilica reached by a fernicular? I seem to recall going up there that way and the wondrous view.
